Modified luggage policy at WizzAir!

Magazine

After Ryanair announced that it will modify its luggage policy, WizzAir followed the lead too.

Until now non-priority holders could choose to bring a hand luggage (55 x 40 x 23 cm) to the gate, where gate agents could decide whether to place your bag in the hold or let it on board. Or Customers could check-in it for free at the check-in desk.

From now on: If you do not purchase WIZZ Priority and your hand luggage exceeds 40 x 30 x 18 cm, you must check it in at the check-in desk free of charge and you can collect it at the baggage belt at the arrival airport. If your hand luggage is smaller than 40 x 30 x 18 cm, you can take it into the cabin but it must be placed under the seat.

What does it mean for you?

It means that you will have to arrive earlier to airports than you used to be, because you will have to check in your bag (also take in mind check-in desk usually closes 40 minutes before departure). So you can choose whether you buy priority boarding or you arrive to the airport earlier.

If you purchase WIZZ Priority, you can take your hand luggage into the cabin (55 x 40 x 23 cm) and one additional small bag (40 x 30 x 18 cm).

The WIZZ Priority fee is

  • € 5.00 – € 12.00 if you buy online or through the Wizz Air Call Centre
  • € 25.00 if you buy the service at the airport
  • non-refundable
